Free Concert
We are excited to announce that Melbourne-born music legends Daryl Braithwaite and Russell Morris will headline our FREE Melbourne Day Concert on Sunday August 30 in the Docklands. The concert also features the Pierce Brothers, Jack and Pat, who return home for their first appearance after a world tour. Soli Tesema will perform Halo, her signature cover of Beyonce’s pop ballard that wowed the judges on The Voice Australia last season.
The Docklands Sunday market
The regular Market is celebrating our city’s 180th anniversary with a special, Melbourne Day-themed variety market.Usually at New Quay Promenade, the market will on 30 August set up along Harbour Esplanade, south of the Cow Up a Tree sculpture, to be closer to the Melbourne Day Concert stage (at Water Plaza).The market is open from 10am to 5pm.
Poker Prologue Cruise
On the afternoon of Saturday, August 29, a Poker Prologue Cruise will be held to attract vessels from yacht clubs in Port Phillip Bay to the Docklands to join in the fun and excitement of Sunday’s Regatta. Owners of private and commercial vessels are encouraged to “dress” their vessel with colourful decorations for the weekend.
